Aftercare

What happens after my treatment? Medicaments, creams, paddings and dressings.

Your practitioner may use certain medicaments, dressings, creams or ointments during your treatment.

Some treatments and/or medicaments cannot be used on certain patients so your practitioner will choose carefully what is suitable for you.

Some conditions such as verrucae, corns and ingrowing toenails can bleed during treatment. Dressings may be applied and your practitioner will advise you on aftercare, or when to book a return visit.

Many foot conditions are long term problems and will reoccur unless regular maintenance is carried out. We usually recommend a routine follow up after six weeks.

Other conditions such as verrucae will require a longer term commitment to treatment.

Your practitioner will advise you on when to book a return appointment and will also suggest, if necessary, what you can do at home to alleviate problems and help slow down or prevent re recurrence.

Your practitioner may suggest a pad or small wedge like item to help with toes that cross over or to help alleviate pain in a particular area. These are made to fit your own foot and there will usually be a small charge.

Your practitioner may also suggest a lotion, cream or treatment for certain conditions that you can apply at home. These can either be bought at competitive prices from reception, or over the counter at a local pharmacy.
